Maintain and work on production in a perennial tree nursery. Plant, graft, weed, irrigate, and prune trees. Also labor performed by H2A workers may include husbandry of farmed deer, meat goats, meat sheep and poultry (ducks, chickens, turkeys, guinea fowl) located on the farm's properties. Livestock husbandry responsibilities include feeding, watering and rotating animals to new paddocks or pastures. Monitoring the livestock for health reasons. Workers will also assist in trimming hooves and other seasonal maintenance including breeding, birthing and loading animals on trailers for transport to butcher, auction or sale. Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess an appropriate license; no one will be rejected for this position that does not possess a driver’s license. Deer work may include monitoring of populations, effective culling of sick animals and establishing forage food plots for grazing. Other livestock tasks may include cleaning meat processing facilities, mucking out/cleaning of livestock barns and hunting blinds on property.
