Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2091 Agricultural Equipment Operator such as: Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases; Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions; Manipulate controls to set, activate, and a djust mechanisms on machinery for cultivating, planting, spraying, watering, harvesting, moving, storing crops; Operate or tend large, high horsepower farm equipment (much of which is equipped with John Deere or Case GPS) used in agricultural production such as tractor, combine, sprayer, planter, grain cart, mower, tillage tool to produce crops such as rice; Adjust farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions; Load agricultur al products into trucks without over or underfilling bed or trailer, and drive to market or storage facilities; Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, planters, harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools; Operate towed machines such as seed drills or spreaders to plant, fertilize, dust, and spray crops; Irrigate soil using portable pipes, center pivot, or ditch systems and maintain ditches or pipes and pumps; Assess crop maturity and field conditions. Must speak and understand English. Approximate staggered entry: 1 workers to begin Feb 15 and 2 workers to begin March 1.
