Os trabalhadores realizarão uma variedade de tarefas agrícolas relacionadas ao cultivo, manutenção, colheita e embalagem de maçãs e espargos. Os deveres incluem podar, desbastar, treinar, amarrar e aparar macieiras; instalar e manter sistemas de treliça; auxiliar na irrigação; monitorar pomares e campos de aspargos em busca de pragas e doenças; e aplicar materiais de proteção de cultivos conforme necessário. Os trabalhadores colherão maçãs e espargos; realizarão o controle de qualidade no campo; manusearão, classificarão e carregarão o produto colhido; e ajudarão no resfriamento e armazenamento adequado de maçãs e espargos para manter os padrões de qualidade.

Os trabalhadores operarão equipamentos agrícolas, incluindo tratores, carregadeiras, empilhadeiras e plataformas motorizadas em operações de pomar e campo. Os deveres incluem cortar, pulverizar pomares de maçã e campos de aspargos, lavoura, movimentação de terra, transporte de areia, sujeira e cascalho para fins agrícolas, mover caixas e carregar e descarregar caminhões com produtos crus e/ou acabados. Os trabalhadores carregarão e descarregarão maçãs e espargos colhidos e outros materiais agrícolas, conforme necessário. Workers may operate pickup trucks and farm vehicles to transport harvested apples, asparagus, sand, dirt, gravel, and agricultural materials between orchard blocks, asparagus fields, storage, and packing areas. A valid driver’s license is required. A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is not required at the time of hire; however, workers must be able and willing to obtain a CDL if requested by the employer and if required for assigned duties. Workers will assist with the packing of apples and asparagus, including sorting, grading, packing, stacking, labeling, and preparing product for shipment. Workers will operate and manage packing lines, including monitoring product flow, adjusting packing materials, maintaining cleanliness, ensuring product quality standards are met, and maintaining production efficiency. Basic computer skills are required to operate and monitor packing line systems, enter production data, track product movement, and maintain packing records.

Additional duties include building and repairing wooden apple bins; maintaining harvest carts; performing basic orchard, asparagus field, and grounds maintenance; maintaining packing and cooling equipment; and cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas. Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday. All duties are agricultural and directly related to the employer’s apple and asparagus production operations.

Drug screens will be conducted post-hire and upon accident or incident and will be at the cost of the employer. Failure or refusal of the drug test is grounds for immediate termination.

During the harvest and peak seasons, workers can expect to work up to 70 hours per week.
