All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in the job order and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in Section A.3 & A.4. Workers will perform tasks related to the planting, cultivating, and harvesting of diversified ground crops. Os trabalhadores podem ser solicitados a operar caminhões ou outros veículos multiuso para transportar trabalhadores de moradias (dentro ou fora da fazenda) para as propriedades agrícolas; transportar ferramentas, suprimentos ou culturas; transportar trabalhadores de um lugar para outro ao redor das propriedades agrícolas durante o dia de trabalho (inclusive em estradas públicas para chegar aos campos dos agricultores); e/ou transportar trabalhadores para o supermercado, banco ou lavanderia, conforme necessário. Workers that are requested to drive will be required to possess a valid driver’s license; no worker will be rejected for not having a driver's license. Workers who do drive will still perform the same field work and other duties as non-driving workers; driving is not a primary duty. Workers must be able to handle and climb a 20-foot ladder repetitively while carrying an apple picking bucket which is harnessed over the workers' shoulders. During harvest, productivity must be at least 60 1-1/8 bushel boxes per 7 hours worked with no more than 5% bruising for fresh market. The work assigned will be physically demanding, long periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, as well as climbing ladders for long periods of time will be required. Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Work required in fields when plants are wet with dew and rain, and may be required during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity and extreme temperatures. Workers should report for work with their own suitable clothing. Workers must be available to work 9-hour shifts between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm Monday through Saturday. Workers will be given a 30-minute lunch break which is staggered between 11am - 1pm as decided by the workers and management. Workers may choose where to eat their lunch and return to work after their 30 minutes are up. The daily or weekly work schedules may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, orchard conditions, and other factors. The employer will notify workers of any change to the schedule. The employer will provide 1 day of training and allow 2 days of work for the workers to satisfactorily perform duties described in this job description. The employer will furnish to workers without cost all tools and equipment required to perform all duties assigned. Workers must be able to take directions in simple English.
