Descrição da Vaga

Fall and winter weather create a distinct and recurring need for additional labor that is tied to cold, wind, snow, ice, frozen water systems, winter manure storage, snow removal, and cold-weather animal care. This annual and predictable winter-weather pattern requires labor levels far above those necessary for ordinary ongoing operations and demonstrates a seasonal need tied to a certain time of year under 20 CFR 655.103(d). Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2093 Farm & Ranch Animals such as: Milking parlor help because cold stressed cows require more attentive handling and longer milking routines; Increase bedding frequency and volume to stay dry and insulated from frozen surfaces; Push up feed, refresh it, and deliver it more frequently; Maintain, monitor, inspect, perform preventative measures, and adjust plans based on cold conditions such as: Adjusting curtains, windbreaks, ventilation, doors, dairy equipment, and other shelter systems to protect cattle; Ensure water lines, waterers, tanks, hoses, valves, and hydrants don't freeze; Thaw, repair, protect, and monitor water access for cows; Workers must clear snow from feed alleys, feed piles, cow lanes, barn entrances, loading areas, calf areas, and working facilities; Remove ice buildup and apply salt and sand or other traction material where needed; Maintain safe footing for both livestock and workers inside buildings and all entrances
